Carrizozo Health Center is a rural health clinic offering primary medical and dental care. The Center provides weekly services to the community of Corona on Tuesdays. Corona is located 45 miles north of Carrizozo on highway 54. Carrizozo Health Center accepts Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, self pay, and also offers a sliding fee schedule for individuals who qualify.

Lincoln County Medical Center Employee Recognized As Rural Physician Assistant Of The Year
May 8, 2000, RUIDOSO, NMErnie Gonzales, PA, a physician assistant at Lincoln County Medical Center's clinics in Carrizozo and Corona, is being recognized as the Rural Physician Assistant of the Year by the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
This designation honors a physician assistant who has provided accessible, quality health care in a rural community with a population of less than 10,000. Gonzales will travel to Chicago in May to accept his award.
Gonzales has experience in general practice, emergency medicine and trauma, industrial medicine and transplant surgery. "I really enjoy the community and caring for my patients," says Gonzales. "The hospital supports me in what I do, and so do the physicians. Dr. Chris Robinson, my supervising physician, plays a key role in what I do." Gonzales has been employed by Lincoln County Medical Center for 11 years. He lives in Carrizozo with his wife Tina.
"We are proud to have the opportunity to work with someone of Ernie Gonzales' caliber," says Jim Gibson, administrator of Lincoln County Medical Center. "We appreciate the contributions he has made to our organization and to the people of Lincoln County."
In 1999, the Carrizozo Health Center provided medical services to 4,948 patients and dental services to 6,611 patients.
